I’m Jaclyn and Olea Nutrition was started as an outlet to share nutrition information that is current, backed by science, and debunksexplains fad diets that really just confuse most of us! what is paleo vegan? But also shares recipes that will help you and your family live a healthier life by incorporating healthy, nutritious recipes into your lifestyle that are simple and easy. Most of the recipes here draw on elements of the Mediterranean diet as it is well known for disease prevention but also because it focuses on eating local, eating whole foods and eating seasonally, which honestly, is tough to do these days. A bit about Jaclyn
Jaclyn Omar is a nutritionist, technical writer and Mediterranean diet specialist and advocate with years of experience writing for government, academia and industry. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, contributed to government health regulatory documents and spoken at international nutrition conferences. Jaclyn is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Canadian Nutrition Society and American Society for Nutrition. Jaclyn earned her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
She is wife to J and mamabear to A, and her weaknesses are morning cappucinos, a great bowl of pasta and a carafe of chianti…in that order!
